Good handwriting is the key to present a good content. Though there will be so much of informative text that is prepared for someone to read but if it is not legible then the reader will have difficulty in understanding the text and will eventually lose interest in it.
To develop good handwriting requires lots of patient and practice. If good handwriting is not trained at the smaller age and the child develops sloppy writing, it is difficult to change the way of writing. Adults face more problems while correcting their writing as they are already used to writing their old handwriting.
To develop good handwriting one must follow certain posture and position. If a person is following an uncomfortable position while writing then it will be difficult to maintain a legible writing. Make sure there is also good support to maintain both your body and the tool in which you’re writing.
A person can follow these steps in order to have continuous and legible writing:
Sitting
Though we believe sitting is static position, a person does lot of works while sitting. It is important to sit in a chair that provides comfort and support. Use a sturdy table so that while writing, table doesn’t shake. Some general sitting rules that one can follow is:
• Make sure you sit in whole chair
• Place a chair that makes you sit tall
• Feet should be touching ground and be placed firm
• The spine should be straight and make sure you don’t have to bend while writing.

Positioning
• Functional positioning is essential when the child is sitting at a desk to tackle a written task.
• Usually this means the common 90/90/90 degree positions of the hips, knees, and feet.
• Tilt slightly forward so that the student leans slightly towards the desk.

Placing of pen and paper
• Tilt the paper slightly anti clockwise for right hand students and clockwise for left hand students
• The best position of fingers is tripod grip where the index and middle finger is positioned on top of pen or pencil and thumb positioned downwards little back of pencil.
• The forearm should be perpendicular to shoulder and wrist placed straight to elbow.
