Good motor skills are the foundation for good handwriting. If a person is relaxed and, moves his/her hand with coordination and does not raise the hand much while writing can be considered that the person is having good handwriting. An adult on average, copy any content through writing at the speed of 40 letters per minute and this may increase up to 113 letters per minute. So when a person intends to improve his/her handwriting one should also try to achieve the average speed while writing.
The first step to advancing into achieving good handwriting is to maintain a good posture. While learning to write one should have his/her own place that has a good and sturdy table and chair. It should support the spine of a person to maintain erect shoulders. Next is to understand the body movements that help to write. The shoulder and the forearm help the person to move the pen and the fingers act as guides while writing. This help in writing at a good pace along with good grip and fatigue-free writing. When a person maintains this posture the person can create fluidity in the writing without lifting their hands unnecessarily. Hold the pen to the person’s comfort, it doesn’t matter how the pen is held, certain researchers suggest a dynamic tripod grip as a comfortable hold. Use very mild pressure while writing so that the practice doesn’t feel tiring. Use quality pen and paper while writing. Leak-free pen and medium thick paper are good for writing.
Practice as much as possible, because Practice makes a man perfect.
